At our meeting recently you requested a testimonial on your course known as the PRISM Improvement Experience. Here are my views as UK Six-Sigma Training Manager at 3M UK.
We used your course in its three day format over a number of years. It remains, in my opinion the best course I have ever seen for introducing and experiencing Process Improvement. It is practical, easy to understand (which is a real challenge for a subject that many perceive as turgid and complicated) and relevant. The point about relevance is an important one; we found your course applicable in all the company areas where it was used, ranging from manufacturing to sales to administration to design. It is hard to imagine any area or indeed, any level of seniority where it would not have been effective. Its secret is in the simulation it uses. Attendees are able to witness results during the course - they actually see process improvement that they, themselves, have achieved.
Another key thing the course teaches is the importance of the system view and the interactivity between people for the greater good. It is able to demonstrate a remarkable balance between cooperation and competition in empowering people to achieve results.
An important factor in the course's success was its presenter who brought vast experience and background knowledge. This quickly won the delegates' respect and attention.
Our Managing Director at the time commented that he, himself, was seeing the difference the course was making in the company. One of the senior sales managers said that he thought the biggest difference was the way it changed managerial behaviour for the better.
